Malibu Picnic with a French Twist.
We drove down the coast in Malibu in search of the perfect picnic location. Our first stop was not what we had hoped it to be. Disappointed and still in search to seek out the destination we had imagined, something caught our eye. Turning off onto an unpaved road, we took a chance and drove to the dead end. Finally finding the secluded area that we were looking for all day. The setting was reminiscent of the French countryside with beautiful rolling hills and lush grass that swayed with the breeze. The sun’s rays coming through the trees provided the ideal lighting to our picturesque picnic. We knew it was meant to be.
It’s all in the Details.
Quickly unloading the car, each of us began to curate this Lychee & Plum moment. First, Diana meticulously arranged the cheese and charcuterie board which displayed a colorful variety of aged cheddar, brie, dried salami, and prosciutto to name a few. Let’s not forget about my personal favorite, truffle honey. If you know me, you know my eternal love for anything truffle!
On the opposite side of the table, there was Hannah working on the three layered strawberry yellow cake. Covering it in a thick layer of Cool Whip and topping off with strawberries and a berry glaze.
Sunset was approaching, therefore I only had a certain amount of time to make sure the floral arrangements were in place because we did not want to miss the sunset. I quickly moved on to lay out the burgundy velvet throw, to finally enjoy our perfect picnic.
The Perfect Picnic
With knee high length grass surrounding us, we indulged in our assortment of treats which we paired with La Burgondie Rosé and edible flower ice cubes. Girly conversations continued and planning for our next Lychee & Plum moment filled the serene silence around us and made way for the grand finale course, our yummy cake! Yes cliche as it was, it truly was the icing on the cake for this perfect day in Malibu.
