Lychee and Plum reimagine LA nightlife with a new take on the supper club.
An intimate crowd gathered last Sunday to celebrate…. well nothing. But a Sunday is as a good as an excuses as any for an underground dinner. Regardless of it’s purpose, no detail was left unturned for this pan-Asian affair. Lychee and Plum hosted their inaugural bash at Seth and Denyce’s Hollywood loft. With dreamy lighting and white flowers floating from pastel parasols, that oh-so-sought-after ambience was realized.
Sexy house beats complimented the vibe. Meanwhile, Denyce handed everyone socks to keep the mood comfy. Diana took another swig of the cherry-coconut sake cocktail she had been toiling away at all week. Seth snapped away on his Galaxy phone, which we had to admit slayed our IPhone cameras.
The Decor Details
A dreamy tablescape included a jasmine tea tin from a bustling Thai market on Hollywood Boulevard, tea cups reminiscent of a Chinese tea parlor, and vintage silver trays filled with fresh herbs. A weathered jewelry box stored secret chocolates. A pink cherry blossom adorned an open tea canister.
Dinner slowly unfolded, beginning with tuna tartar on crispy wonton. Followed by, stunning rainbow glass spring rolls. The first variety were filled with mango, dragon fruit, apple, and mint; served with a honey citrus dipping sauce. The second variety consisted of carrot, cilantro, bell pepper, and cucumber; served with a peanut chili sauce.
Candles flickered low. Hannah topped off the milky white goblets from Anthropolgie with another round of sake, while Celi put the finishing black sesame seeds on the chili garlic glass noodles.
Next, a banana leaf and pineapple shell shined as serving dishes.
The Finale: A Truly Unique Experience
Lastly, a jello cake filled with glitter took the stage. Maybe giddy from their chocolate, some spanking and jiggling ensued..
